Plum extra Jam

plum extra jamOnce ripe, the best plums are carefully selected by hand and cooked slowly over a low heat to  make this soothing jam. Only cane sugar is added. An excellent ingredient in home-made tarts. We recommend serving it as an original dessert with dry biscuits soaked in liqueur.

Orange Extra Marmalade

orange marmalade

A rich and tasty speciality, prepared by hand using the pulp and rind of fresh oranges, cut into pieces and steamed in the actual jar. This is how the marmalade preserves all its flavour and the aroma of freshly-picked fruit.

Strawberry Extra Jam

strawberry extra jamEvery jar it’s like a new world! Strawberry Jam is one of the most widespread jams: you’ll find it on every table! BUT (there is always a but) San Lorenzo Strawberry extra jam is top quality, and not only because our strawberry are very good, but even because there is NO pectin! And if you do not add pectin to a jam made with the less pectin fruit in the world, you need to have 165 g of fruits for 100g of finished product!

That’s our but!

Piedmont Hazelnut Cookies

hazelnut cookies

These cookies are a dream: crunchy, full of chocolate and hazelnut chips, perfect to dip in milk or zabaione…

They are, of course, home-made, containing hazelnuts from Piedmont, “nocciola Tonda Gentile delle Langhe”, (Protection of Geographical Indication) one of the best quality hazelnuts you can find. Production, carried out entirely by hand, gives the biscuits that crumbliness and fragrance which would be impossible to achieve in industrial products.

Chestnut cream

chestnut cream

The great Italian “marrone”, the prince of chestnuts, is transformed into an exquisite, full-bodied chestnut cream, prepared slowly, according to tradition. The result is deliciously creamy, an irresistible treat for those with a sweet tooth. You can eat it by the spoonful, spread on crispbreads or to give a special touch to homemade cakes.

Panel San Lorenzo 2007: jams, marmalades and bicuits

From Monday the San Lorenzo tasters will begin a new and intriging adventure: they will explore the realms of jams, marmalades and biscuits. Their long journey among San Lorenzo’s selection can be followed LIVE from the San Lorenzo Social Club, thanks of an open group where everybody can participate and interact (as 100% of the Panel is Italian, unluckily the discussions will be in Italian).

Guests star in the adventure will be Antonio Pellegrino, the man in the white gown, responsible for San Lorenzo quality, and Mauro Valente, the man that can cook, responsible for San Lorenzo products purchase.

An additional guest star will be our favourite professor, our only nutritionist, the San Lorenzo School head master Gianna Ferretti.

A Big Brother food version, let’s say it! ;-)

From Monday you’ll find mainly recipe related to the tasting, from simple cakes to more elaborate one, some savoury dishes and some strange stuff!

Happy tasting and have fun!
