Oh yes! And not for London this time, but for Sant’Agata sui due Golfi, Naples!
Some days ago I was telling you about this event we are organizing in Italy, We bring the wine.
Well, this is the first friday of the San Lorenzo tour of the best Italian restaurants, and we are hosted by Don Alfonso Iaccarino, at his Don Alfonso 1890.
You can’t imagine how excited I am!!!

But we won’t stop here, no no!
For the 20th of July we are already collecting entries for the next competition! The restaurant will be Symposium 4 Stagioni, in the Marche region!
Make sure to reserve the date, add yourself and maybe you can be among the 10 lucky people who will join us!!!

And now that the barbecue is all set in the back garden, the invitations has been send, what should you cook and drink?
For an Italian/Mediterranean twist, you can use the recipe below and you won’t be disappointed!
And the drinks?
Well San Lorenzo has a wide selections of incredible Italian wines and some liquors that wont’ disappoint your tastes either!
To begin, a wonderful Franciacorta D.O.C.G. Millesimato (a sparkling white wine made following the Champagne method) is the best way to start the night!
Then, for the meat why not try our Taurasi D.O.C.G, a great red wine from Irpinia, a mountain region in the south of Italy with incredibly wild views, aged in oak, but still fresh and perfect with grilled meat.
For your grilled fish, why not trying a Müller Thurgau from the north of Italy, aromatic and fresh, perfect even with any part of your meal, from starters to veggy.

Today I was invited to a wonderful and ultimate experience by Walid of TrustedPlaces: a complete tasting tour of London Borough Market guided by the charming Celia Brooks Brown.
I was very and really pleased by many many thing of this two hours tour!
First of all the group Walid was able to gather together: there were prominent English Food Bloggers and food journalist, and all very passionate about food!
I was overwhelmed not only by the company, but by the market too. Besides being the oldest London food market, it was a very beautiful market, very "European"! Dating back to 2000, the food market scene was very sad and almost inexistent. Just in that years England became much more aware of organic food and that lead towards a growing interested about everything was ending in English belly: the so called "English renaissance". And all this trend has grown every years since, and it is still growing!
And more awarnes about food, means a bigger interested in different food cultures, like Italian.
Right now Italian food is very hot in London: today, while I was strolling around South Kensington during lunch hour I saw Carluccio’s, one of the best known Italian restaurant in London, and it was completely packed!
Will San Lorenzo follow the lead of the growing interest in our culture and food?
That’s a given!!!
And stay tuned for the up coming events we are planning in London! It will be an exciting Fall!!!

Yesterday night…
First of all, everything you’ve heard about Google it’s true!
They have a canteen in the building! And the food is really good!
The offices are all sunny and full of light!
Everybody is young, so young!
And they are all very relaxed!

And the enjoyed our wines!!!
I haven’t found a single person that wasn’t more then happy for the selection we bought! And I was just delighted about it!

Here I am, in London, in a very sunny day. But better: in an authentic British bar, eating a Tuna and avocado wrap!
I was really tempted by Starbucks down the road, but well, I’m in England, so Cheers Mate! (No, I’m not drinking a pint of beer in the middle of the afternoon!!!)

I’m really happy and excited for tonight event! I can finally speak face to face about San Lorenzo products, tell them our story, our link to the "web people", our love for the net! and of course our love and passion for astonishing food and wine!

But before that, well, I’m going to explore… The last time I’ve been in London was 2000. Just looking at the city from the bus I realised how much has changed… From some points of view it became more European (girls are wearing the same shoes we wear in the continent and they are dress more like us, and I assure that 7 years ago it wasn’t like that!) and from some other ways it became much more American (I’ve never seen so many people jogging during lunch hour!), and in some other ways is still Jolly good England…
My bus passed by the Tower of London and in front of the Parliament, and nothing could stop me to smile when we passed the Cromwell’s statue! I know he did so many bad and mean things, but, common, he was the first head of state without a crown, he lead a revolution!!!
Any way, exploring… I think this afternoon I’ll go by the tourist stuff, like Fortnum&Mason, and other shops on Oxford Street and Regent Street…
Tomorrow morning at 11 I have a meeting (I’ll tell you more about it soon) and then I think I will hit Chinatown and Charing Cross Road…
Then… Well, then I’ll come back…
It’s a shame that it was so short this time, I couldn’t even meet some fellow bloggers (like The Passionate Cook), but next time I’ll try to be here more days…

Tomorrow I will be flying to London!
As I said before, I will attend to a Goole/Girl Geek dinner  at the Google offices for the presentation of the developments of Google checkout, and San Lorenzo is providing some good wines!
Our Porsecco di Valdobbiadene, a premium product, with some interesting aromatic notes.
The Merlot, and for once I won’t quote Sideways ("If anyone orders Merlot, I’m leaving!")! I’ve learned to love this earthy red wine, and, if made in the right way, like ours, it can be astonishing…
Pinot nero dell’Alto Adige, and I think it’s enough if I say that it rests for one year in oak cask, no? I mean, think at the wonderful developments this can mean?
And Moscato d’Asti, a perfect companion for any desserts, sweet, but not to much, aromatic, but not to much: a perfect balance!
I think we will have fun, not only with the wines, but with all the wonderful people that will gather!
