Finger biscuits

Finger biscuitsClick on the picture to the side, and you’ll see what these strange objects are for. They’re finger biscuits, to stick into anything sweet and creamy you might happen to come across.

Reality Blog

Massimo De Marco, itadakimasuA new entry in the blog section on San-lorenzo.com: it’s Massimo De Marco, with his itadakimasu (if you don’t know what that means, click here, you’ll even find out how to pronounce it). When he grows up, Massimo wants to be a food journalist. He’s up for anything, even for having the mickey taken here, with his blog, by telling us everything he’s doing and plans to do in order to succeed: best of luck Massimo!

[Here, at San Lorenzo, we love blogs. This is why we’ve decided to promote and host them free of charge. Got an idea for a blog that has something to do with diet? Write to me, and we’ll talk about it.]

Blog Tastings: the rules

The idea of Blog Tastings is that San-lorenzo.com would like to take part in the bloggers’ meetings that are springing up all over Europe.

How will we join in?
Well, by sending some of the products we sell to anyone who’s interested, because we believe that they really are good.

In exchange for what? Nothing.
We just want to do our part to multiply the opportunities for bloggers and web enthusiasts (just like us) to meet, chat, and exchange opinions.

Does it apply only to foodbloggers? No.
It applies to all blog-meetings, provided that they have a point, a subject.
Just to be clear: Hey, this evening I am going out for dinner with a girl who writes a blog, please, send me the products ⇒ No chance!
On the other hand: Hey, on X day there’ll be 3 of us meeting up (or 30, or 3000) to set up an online radio, or to talk about web 2.0, to deepen our knowledge about the life-cycle of the carrot ⇒ OK, yes, this is ok!

What to do to receive SL products?
It’s simple: enter the details of the meeting in the Wiki that we have put there specially. Anyone with problems using the wiki, can email me.

How sparkling mineral water came to be

From the vats used to ferment beer – in the eighteenth century – came a gas that used to asphyxiate the cats that scientists of that time used to hang over the vats to do experiments: this is why it was called mephitic gas.
Until one day Joseph Priestley suspended a carafe of water above one of those vats, and discovered that the dissolved gas(nothing other than CO2, carbon dioxide) made it sparkling, good to drink, and fun with all those bubbles. Saying nothing, he offered it to his friends who were enthusiastic: hence the birth of sparkling water.

Blog Tastings: 12 April, Rome

We’ve just announced Turin, and here we are straight away with Rome: Il cavoletto di bruxelles and Il cuore è una frattaglia at the Blog Tasting in Rome on 12 April. Highlight of the evening will be a remarkably good (so they tell me) pizza at Sforno. San-lorenzo.com will be taking part - alas – remotely, by sending a few tasty treats…

[Plans for Blog Tastings & the like? Please sign up on the Wiki, or drop me a line with the date, theme, address, location and participants, but with a bit of prior notice! We’ll be pleased to send you a few of our products to enhance your tasting session and your conversations].

Blog Tastings

There’s no point in hiding it, ‘cos I know: here and there bloggers are organising meetings, dinners, drinks and nibbles, tasting sessions… Like the one next Saturday when a select group of foodbloggers from Turin are getting together at the restaurant ‘l Birichin in Turin. They’ll be meeting up for a beer-tasting session Un Tocco di Zenzero, La cuoca petulante, Delicious e Tirebouchon. I won’t be able to make it, but I thought I’d send a few San Lorenzo products to try as pairings (not easy, you might find a few hints here) with the beers they’ll be tasting (we hope they’ll tell us how it went).

All this is to say: if you’re planning blog-dinners, blog-drinks, blog tasting sessions or blog-meetings, please sign up on the wiki or drop me a line beforehand with the date, theme, address etc., and I’ll be pleased to send you a few San Lorenzo products. Who knows, maybe one of these days, I’ll turn up along with the products :-) (more…)

Both.
A website, and an e-commerce site, even with its own Store [GB
